Hang-Out Time

Daniel and Ashlynn are definitely 21st century kids. They are well versed in hang-outs.

Junie B. Jones - The Pumpkin

Ashlynn's school decided to enter the story book character pumpkin contest at her school, Iona Elementary. Her favorite series right now is Junie B. Jones so that was her first pick. Grandaddy, Grandmomma and I all had a hand in helping helping Ashlynn transform her pumpkin. Tomorrow I will be taking Ashlynn and her pumpkin to school.

Gifts from Daddy's Trip

Once I got home from the hospital, the kids and I opened our presents from Scott's trip to Dallas, TX. Ashlynn got a snow globe of the skyline, Daniel got a little armidillo, and I got a cowboy boot necklace in the most adorable cowboy hat jewelry case. Thanks honey!

First Snowman of the Season!

Ashlynn and Daniel had a blast building a snowman with Grandaddy.

Daniel's Ready to Play in the Snow!

Daniel had to wait a whole day to go out and play in the snow, but when finally given the chance, he was ready. Since he was going outside, he had to take his four wheeler. I saw no reason why he shouldn't so out he went!

Indy Gets a New Friend

Grandmomma came to town and Indy clamored all of her. What's worse, Grandmomma let him!

Sleeping Angel

Daniel was completely zonked out during his afternoon nap.

The Helpful Phlebotomist

The phlebotomist who came in to draw my blood, of course thought my kids were quite cute. He generously gave them each not one,but two of the blue tourniquets used to assist in the blood drawing process. Ashlynn and Daniel were entertained for hours.

Ashlynn and Daniel Love Momma

Unfortunaty, the steroid injection I had in my back on 24 Sept was part of the batch out of the Massachusetts plant that was tainted with fungus. I had a lot of test run due to the symptoms I was experiencing. Consequently I was admitted to the hospital for a dew days. The kiddos visited religiously and wanted to "cuddle Momma."

Foot Cast

Ashlynn has unfortunaty developed flat feet. To correct this problem, the doctor is going to make inserts for her shoes. In order to make sure they fit accurately, they made a cast of Ashlynn's foot. The finished cast looked more like a ballet slipper. The cast is shipped to Indianna and takes 1 month or so to be completed.

Pearly Whites

Daniel LOVES to brush his teeth. Whenever he goes into the bathroom, he asks to brush his teeth. Sometimes I find him in the bathroom, sitting on the counter, attempting to brush his teeth. This morning, I helped him get them especially clean, which he enjoyed.

I remember doing this, but I was a little older.

Ranch

Giving Daniel the little container of Ranch for his chicken nuggets was going so well until I ran Ashlynn na k into school after a doctor's appt. This is what I returned to my car to find...

Slip and Slide Shopping

Today I took the kids out to get Pizza Hut for dinner. While we were waiting on the pizza, we quickly went in to Winco for some milk, lunch meat, dried fruit, etc. I saw a thing of Pillsbury brownies that was on sale for $.88 and decided to spoil our chocoholic guest. Unfortunately a prior custody had apparently spilled a thing of cooking oil all over the aisle. I had my hand on the cart and was walking along side it when my foot found the oil and took off out from underneath me. Thankfully I was able to get a grip on the cart so instead of completely falling down on the ground, my hips just twisted around as my legs went forwards and I tweaked my back.
I stood there for a bit waiting until an employee walked by and I flagged him down. I told him about the oil and that I had slipped so he grabbed a little cone thing and then went off to get something with which to clean it. He handed me a little towel thing to wipe my shoe off and the kids and I made a bee line for the check out. By then my back was starting to seize up and so I texted Scott and asked if I should report it to the store or not. Scott thought I should, so after I checked out and bagged my groceries, I took the kids over to customer service and asked for the manager.
When I told them what had happened, I saw the look of fear come across their faces. I'm sure they were freaking out about law suits and such, but I truly only wanted to report it in case I ended up having to go to my doctor and my insurance declined covering it due to another "party" being responsible for it. It took about 20 minutes but they were very helpful and we got the form filled out. Apparently when they were cleaning it up, they never found the bottle. All that they can think is that a customer spilled a bottle of oil and took the bottle to through away somewhere else in the store. Very odd.
By the time I got to the car, it was all I could do to get the groceries and the kids in the car. We grabbed the pizza and headed on home so I could start the icing process and get some muscle relaxers on board. Thankfully Scott got home and was able to get the kids bathed and put to bed. So now I am hoping that I will be as good as new tomorrow and won't have to worry about it anymore. Winco told me to call them if I do end up having to seek medical care and then we'll go from there. I really hope this the end of it. It is hurting quite a bit, though. Time will tell I suppose.

Fashion Conscious 2 year old

Daniel wanted to pick out his outfit today, so I said, "Certainly, son!" I assisted in his dressing, we left his room, he looked down at his outfit, and started to cry. It took a minute, but I realized he was crying over his outfit! He was saying he wanted to changed. I obliged. We went back into his room, I helped him disrobe yet again, and he picked out this outfit. So far it has stayed on him for 10 minutes now, so I'm hoping it is a keeper. I had no idea boys, let alone 2 year olds, cared so much about their attire. Had I not seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed how totally devastated he was by the first outfit he chose. This is outfit number is #2 (#3 if you count the PJ's in which he started) for the day - and it is only 9:15!

Toone/Seward Wedding 1 September 2012

I had the privilege of being one of Danielle's bridesmaids. The wedding was beautiful and the weather cooperated until the very end. Since I was in the ceremony and Scott was filming the ceremony, we didn't get any pictures of it, but a few of before hand and plenty of afterwards. Instead of continuing to write about it, I am just going to post a few of my favorites.

City Office Picnic

1 August 2012

The City of Idaho Falls puts on an annual picnic for all employees and their immediate families. They rent out the little amusement park called "Fun Land", close down the zoo so that employees have the whole place to themselves, and cater hamburgers, hot dogs, and all of the fixings. The mayor and councilman all take turns serving everyone and the event lasts 4 hours. This was the first year I had the day off so I put my name down for food and wristbands for Fun Land.
Once Daniel saw the train, that was all he wanted to ride. I convinced him to ride the carousel and the Ferris Wheel, but after every other ride, he wanted to go back and ride the train. Sometime he was the only one on the whole ride.
Scott and I had some fun playing the miniature golf. I did horribly, no surprise there. On one of the wholes I tried so hard to get it into the whole I ended up hitting it through the chain link fence and into the parking lot. That was a little embarrassing to chase down. We let Daniel play, too, and initially he had fun, but towards the end he got bored.
After riding the train "one more time" we headed over for food. By that time most of the food was gone. We ate and then headed over to the zoo to "See the animals!" but the zoo had officially closed. Daniel was really disappointed so we promised we would go see the animals the next day. The next morning he woke up and started saying "Go see the ANIMALS!" and of course we took him.

Beautiful Sunrise

I snapped this photo of the sunrise on my way home this morning. So pretty.
